What is Love?

Verse of the Day

Devotional done by Stacey our partner

How many times have you and I said the words, "I am so lonely", "I am so tired of going home to an empty house",

"I dont go anywhere because there is no one to go with", " I feel so isolated, abandoned and forgotton"....

Only a guess, however, each one of us are probably guilty of saying those things. If you have small children at home with you, your situation may be a little bit different. Doesnt matter. The enemy wants us to feel all of these things because he can use them against us. To be honest with you, I am guilty of the above phrases myself, falling for the lie that no one is there for me. Not even God. There have been so many times in my own mind, wandering where God was, Jesus where are You? He was there the whole time. Waiting for me, and for you to calm down, look up, and realize that no matter what is going  on around us, we are not alone. You and I may go home to an empty house without another human body being in it with us. Jesus is there, the angels that have charge over us are there, the Holy Spirit is there.

You and I are not alone.

Websters meaning of Lonely = having no company, alone, solitary, isolated

This word means everything that God says we are NOT....If you have never looked up lonely or loneliness in the back of your bible, you should. Study it for yourself. The Lord Himself decalres that we are never alone. He is always present with us. He has said so beginning in the book of Genesis. Basically all the way through the Bible. Here are a few of them. there are more. So when you are feeling down, and all alone with no one around, go get the Word of God in your hand, open it up and speak out loud what you are reading...not only are you speaking to yourself, you are also speaking to the principalities and powers of the air...declaring what God says. When you do this, those principalities and powers of the air must leave, they must take their spirit of lonliness and go...they cannot stay where there is Light, Holy Light.

Here are some of the scriptures that deal with the subject of loneliness.

Genesis 28:15 -- And behold, I am with you and will keep watch over you with care, take notice of you wherever you may go, and I will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done all of which I have told you.

Deuteronomy 31:6 -- Be strong and courageous, and firm; fear not nor be in terror before them, for it is the Lord your God Who goes with you; He will not fail you or forsake you.

Deuteronomy 31:8 -- It is the Lord Who goes before you; He will march with you; He will not fail you, or let you go or forsake you. Let there be no cowardice or flinching, but fear not, neither become broken in spirit, depressed, dismayed and unnerved with alarm.

Joshua 1:5 -- No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you: I will not fail you or forsake you.

Joshua 1:9 -- Have I not commanded you? Be strong, vigorous, and very courageous. Be not afraid, neither be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

1Samuel 12:22 -- The Lord will not forsake His people for His great names's sake, for it has pleased Him to make you a people for Himself.

1Chronicles 28:20b -- Be strong and courageous, and do it. Fear not, be not dismayed, for the Lord God, my God is with you. He will not fail or forsake you until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.

Psalm 25:16 -- Lord turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted.

Psalm 89:28 -- My mercy and loving-kindness will I keep for him forevermore, and My covenant shall stand fast and be faithful with him.

Psalm 89:33-35 -- Nevertheless, My loving-kindness will I not break off from him, nor allow My faithfullness to fail, to lie and be false to him. My covenant will I not break or profane nor alter the thing that is gone out of My lips. Once for all have I sworn by My holiness, which cannot be violated.

Isaiah 41:10 -- Fear not there is nothing to fear, for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I wil help you, yes I will hold you up and retain you with My victorious right hand of rightness and justice.

John 14:18 -- I will not leave you as orphans, comfortless, desolate, bereaved,

Hebrews 13:5b -- For He, God Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. I will not, I will not, I will not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake you nor let you down, relax My hold on you! Assuredly not.  (all scripture is from the Amplified Bible).

Now that you have read the scriptures above, this should make you feel much better to know that another lie of satan has been exposed. God does care, He is with you, with me, the ones we are praying for. We are never totally alone. God's own Word says so. When those feelings show up, or those thoughts show up, talk to the Lord...He will answer, and you will know that He is right there in the same place with you.

My Father God in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I come with thanksgiving, praise, and worship that another lie of satan has been exposed to me. I thank you that I know I am not alone, at anytime, at anyplace. That no matter where I am, You, my Lord are with me. When I go home after work, I will not be alone, because You will be there waiting on me. When I fall asleep at night, I will fall asleep knowing that you are with me watching over me, the angels are standing guard around me. I am not alone. In the name of Jesus, I command the spirit of lonliness to go where ever you send it, never to return to me any way, shape or form. Lord I loose into me and each person that I have prayed for, the Comforter, who is the Holy Spirit, Loose the Garmet of Praise, and the Oil of Joy. I will no longer be lonely. Thank You Lord for not ever leaving me. Thank you for always being there. I pray this according to John 15:16, and Isaiah 61:3. Thank You that Your love and your word never fails. In Jesus name. Amen.
