Step 2

Baptizing with water

Well done! Your life is going to change dramatically after you have given your heart to Christ. The second process you must go through is to get yourself baptized. Why you may ask me, let me explain;

In Mark 16:16 Jesus says, "He who believes in Jesus will be saved.  Jesus says that both belief and baptism are required to enter into His kingdom here on earth, it does not mean  that if you do not get baptized, that you will not go to heaven, all it means is that you will not experience Gods kingdom here on earth. In other words you will not experience the Lords victory when you don’t get baptized, you will be a Christian playing in the mud and not a Christian walking in Jesus victory.

Matthew 28:19

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost

The Bible teaches water baptism for the New Testament church, and it is our responsibility to obey this teaching. Jesus gave us some insight as to the importance of water baptism in John 3:5: "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God." Both the context of that statement and the subsequent practice of the New Testament church indicates that He was speaking of the water baptism.

In short the work of the cross is God’s blessing for life…Baptism is our key into His kingdom. So the what after the who is; that one, goes into the water symbolizing giving up the old sinful life style, and then when one comes up from the water, this symbolizes that one is raised up as a new creation in Christ. In summary; one dies with Christ and then one is resurrected with Him from the grave.

2 Corinthians 5:17 : The old has gone, the New has come.

Galatians 2:20 (New International Version)

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

We encourage you now to find a local church where you can be baptized and grow in the knowledge of God through His Word, the Bible. This is our second step…
